Will we see a new Universe?

Does anyone know when we will find out if there will be a new Universe added to the lineup this year? Thanks

Well if they continue to make the uv777bk it would have the new trem right? In theory anyway. But anything "new" new, doubtfull.

Seeing that Ibanez is pulling out high-end 7's from the market, probably not (i wonder how long is the k7 going to last). What could possibly happen is an introduction of a new UV as the only high end 7-string...

thats a shame if we keep getting the same thing or nothing at all. It seems like a new UV could really liven up the market. You guys dont think the 7 string market is dying do you? Would it so tough to get a different color UV with EVO's and a sustainer in the middle? But I guess that doesnt seem likely.

Thanks guys.
(sorry for the newbie post error)

First off, what we think is irrelevant when it comes to Jems and Universe's to Ibanez, because the ONLY person who opinion is anything to them is Steve Vai. That being the case, unless Vai wants a different color UV with evo's and a sustainer, it's impossible unless you wanna customize it yourself, personally,I'd love to see a huge selection of colors, but it just ain't gonna happen.

[pure speculation]
I think in the end, there will be a UV, a Prestige RG7, some sort of AX/GRX7 and a K7 PRS style SE model for about half the price.
And they will be the only 7strings avalible.
[/pure speculation]

No...the market has been dead for quite a while now....it is, by no means, dying...it got there when Guitar Centers stopped discerning between the RG7420 and the RG7620s because they had so many used ones taken in on trade and were considering giving them away with purchase of other instruments.

The odds of Ibanez releasing another Universe is as likely as the Chevy Corvair being announced for the next year of production and McDLTs showing up at the arches.

The Universe has survived this long mostly out of what appears to be politeness to one of thier largest endorsers.
