Re: wtf i never seen these before

These have been discussed to death I believe.

The product line was created against counterfeiters selling Jem copies (some time ago). It was Ibanez's attempt at selling something like the real thing (at least really Ibanez).

Yeap, there are everywhere around here, they aren't bad, but they play nothing like the real thing, I'd rather get a 350 instead, and they are quite expensive being it a medium low end guitar. I believe it's called the jem333 before.

Re: wtf i never seen these before

mi2tom, I have a JEM JR (JEM333, MIK) and I gotta tell you, she plays as great as a RG350. My brother has a RG350EX and they are both great. Let's say that the JEM333 is closer to a RG than a JEM. Overall, it's a great guitar. A change of pups, bridge and machine heads, and you got yourserlf a more than decent guitar. As far as pricing issue, at least here in Argentina, is not that expensive compared to a RG350. I think the difference is a $100 or less. And, to be honest, I rather get a JEM333 than a JEM555.

And eventually for the money spent, you could have bought yourself quite a good a guitar.

Things are a little bit different here in Argentina, when it comes to prices. You won't get a RG Prestige for less than a US$1500, and the RG350 or the JEM333 only costs US$700. Here, US$1 = AR$3. And considering that the basic salary is AR$750 (US$245)... well, you get the idea.

Re: wtf i never seen these before

Wow, they are selling these with full dot neck inlays now? I don't know what will piss people off more, half vines on 555s or no vine at all?

EDIT: wait, this and the 555 are two different guitars!? Weird... that's two competitors to the fakes.

Well, same here in Finland for the prices. RG350 = ~$700 and JEM555 = ~$1750. But of course the basic salary is what makes the difference..

edge pro - $300
gotoh tuners - $60
3 pups - $300
Jem 333 - $700
---------------------
$1360 for aa guitar wich at the end will still be a jem 333, IMO if your going to upgrade all that, better save it for a new and better guitar

Re: wtf i never seen these before

Would the tuners be that big of a deal since it's a locking system anyway? Pups would be more-so around $200 if you could find free shipping somewhere probably.

Re: wtf i never seen these before

They'd look cool if it wasn't cheaper and better to buy yourself a white RG prestige and cut a monkey grip into it. (talking about it with the upgrades )

Though to me they are more aesthetically pleasing than the RG350s. Sharkfin inlays don't sit with me well.
