Your oppinion on a pickup change in my UV777

I'm not completely satisfied with the blaze pickups. The neck pickup is fine, but I need a sharper sound from the bridge. My fav bridge pickup for 6-stringers is the tonezone... I've never heard the 7-stringed one though...

What are your oppinions on a pickup switch?

Try it what harm could it do but give you a better sound. There are alot of things the blaze is really good at though. Just try it and if you dont like it switch back. Its only solder

I've never changed pickups myself... are there any tutorials online?

Assuming you're comfortable popping off your bridge and using a soldering iron, you shouldn't have a problem swapping out the pickups.

After you pop the bridge off, after that, it's just a matter of making a little diagram of where each color wire goes from your old p'up to the switch/knob/etc.

Since you're replacing a Dimarzio wih a Dimarzio, the color ocde is the same... just unsolder the old one and match the colors from the new one. It'll take you a good hour or so the first time....I've done a lot of them and i'm down to about 20 minutes

note of caution: Don't overheat the solder points on switch...they WILL melt. The switches Ibanez uses aren't very well resistant to high-heat - keep the iron on them as little as possible.

Hmm... I suck att setting up guitars... so this makes me a little unsure of if I can make it on my own... It's an expensive piece to use as a first try :P

hmm...

How powerful is your soldering iron? Not getting both contacts hot leads to a cold solder. This is just as bad as having to replace generic parts.
