$100,000 Les Paul?

Isn't there a certain model of Les Paul that is worth around $100,000 at the moment? I may be way off, but I thought it was a '59 Gold Top or something. If you know, let me know. Thanks

well the 58 59 and 60 les paul flametops are all pretty high in value at the moment 59, being the most valuable/best sounding at least in my opinion

The 52's arent generally as valualbe as they were simply not as well made a guitar. The 58 59 and 60 models were the first production model guitars *EVER* to come off the line with humbucking pickups. The original 52 goldtop had a trapeze tailpeice instead of a tunamatic and later simply had just a stopbar tailpeice. The action is usually pretty crappy on those guitar, as well as having very shady intonation issues. This is of course all a matter of general opinion but gibsons golden years for many were 58 through 60

my grandfather has a 58 goldtop, last time he check in the condition its in(near mint, bridge wear after 46 years what do you expect) its still worth almost $60,000 fair auction range, he could probably get about 85 out of it if he wanted, but he said it himself, "im gonna be burried with this guitar man" same way i feel about my main guitar a usa jackson dinky custom shop
