$3,000 RG-765 on the 'bay

Douchebag of the year so far...

I messaged this guy on fleabay to just to say good luck in a nice way and I hoped he would sell the guitar for that much, and the fact that I had two of them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=301282330995

he responded with this...
Good for you! are you selling either of them? Didn't think so! Because I am curious why you would bother sending this as a question when you have no question at all. So why don't stop wasting my time when you could be playing those guitars!

By the way mine is not mint! Might want to read the listing!

can we screw with this guy? Message him until he takes this down
I am pretty easy to get along with, but clearly he has awoken the dragon with this condescending message...so lets see what can be done to **** with him.

thanks guys!
That's stupid... But I'm too old for trolling. Had this been about 12 or 13 years ago, I might have trolled him hard

Re: $3,000 RG-765 on the 'bay

That's odd. Doesn't sound like you were giving him a hard time about his price. He must have interpreted it that way. That was crappy of him...you didn't deserve it and I don't blame you for being pissed.

Anyway, I managed to pick one of these up not too long ago so I'm very curious what this one will sell for. Initially I was thinking he was way too high but then again they are really rare. I do remember one yellow one that sold about 6 months or so ago on ebay. I think it was around 1200 with the best offer option so don't know exactly what it sold for. I wonder if it's the same guitar? Anyway guess we'll see what it brings.

The guy is off his rocker. These will be selling for $3000 when LNG's are selling for $10,000. Rarity means nothing without a large demand.

Yeah...the one that sold in the 1200 range was relisted a few times too...it's not like it even sold right away. I'm guessing somewhere around that number is where it will land give or take a few hundred

He's idiot fishing. He has no interest in selling unless he finds more money than brains.

I wasn't trying to mock him or anything, I would be happy if the values on these keep going up, they are rare and unique to that year. I just thought it was a ****ty response. I am sure he's getting all kinds of idiotic messages too.
thanks for the support!

This exactly!

Maybe he should "relic" it and ask for more money. :P

That guitar has been listed a number of times. It'll probably sit out there for a while, then disappear and reappear a few months later.

There are definitely idiots out there paying too much for guitars but he's looking for a once in a lifetime idiot at that price.

I used to have an eBay account setup that I used with a VPN to BIN guys like this, but now I'm a little too old for that haha.

Not much different than the red RG750. Saw it on Guitar Center used for 250 with big cracks in the body and lower neck joint. Listed for 495 and ended early. Now it pops up again for 995. WTF.

Re: $3,000 RG-765 on the 'bay

I agree with Rich about rarity not necessarily meaning a whole lot without a large demand. Even if this were pristine, which it clearly isn't, I don't think I'd go any higher than $650 shipped, if even that really.

I'm not a Steinberger guy but I was looking at them on eBay for schmits and giggles.
Is this a fair asking price?

LOL! Shipping $500! Does he drive it to your house personally?
