That's not a "steal" given the condition, but it's certainly not a /bad/ price, and overall it doesn't look too worn. If the frets are in good shape, I'd offer him $500-$550 and see if he bites. If he doesn't and it's really calling your name, $600 isn't bad for one of the greatest guitars to come out in the last 40 years, in an awesome color to boot

Played it today. Granted its general awesomeness- generally the sound you'd expect, speaks well all over the fingerboard, frets not too worn, and only the tiniest beginning of a hairline but crack, it's still not a BAD deal...but that's all I can say about it.

the color is desirable to me because it's desirable to other people, but it's not generally a color I'm wild about as far as my personal aesthetics. If somebody else bpught it I think I would be relieved because I'd be much smarter to spend my money elsewhere :-) but I'm still thinking about it.

My take - don't buy it. If it's not desirable to you, you can find something you'll dig more for less, more likely than not.

I own a RFR and dig the **** out of it, but a lot of the appeal of it for me is it's so absurd looking.
