1987 RG750 - advice please

Hi to you all
This is my first post here on the forum.
I have a 1987 RG750 in white with all stock hardware and pickups, the trouble is I don't play guitar anymore, preferring bass and I seem to be amassing too many of those so I'm going to have to sell this beauty.
Now this IS NOT an advert for sale I will post that in time but I'm no expert on these things and don't know where to price this thing at.
I'm in the UK so can anybody help me out with a guide value in £'s please?

Re: 1987 RG750 - advice please

Hi,

These don't pop up for sale too often (RG750 that is), not in great condition anyway.

I would not really like to say definitively as the price for second hand Ibanez guitars of recent has become somewhat of a guessing game.

In my experience over say the last five years or so I have seen a mint ruby red go for £400 (still wishing I had pressed the trigger faster on that), seen a white one/not mint go (cant remember exactly how much to be honest) for around £550 & a year ago or so was talking to a bloke selling an excellent condition ruby red who was asking for £600 (I believe it could have actually been the one I missed ..lol). So really down to what you ae wanting for it and what the buyer is willing to pay for it. So in all honesty you could potentially sell for above £650 depending on the condition.

Just looking on certain auction sites will give you an idea, if you look at models Like obviously RG750, 760 & 770 you will get a feeling for what people are asking. Although these prices do seen to be inflated by buyers that then sell on at higher prices - an example of that would be looking at the current prices for the second hand RG770's available most of which have been available.

Where in the UK are you? What condition is the guitar in?

For total transparency here - As a player/collector Yes I could be interested in your guitar should you decide to sell.

All the best

Re: 1987 RG750 - advice please

Hi RG Bargie
I would say that the guitar is in very good condition, I bought it in about 93/94 and by then I wasn't playing guitar in bands any more so I've never gigged it, just picked it up every so often. A couple of years ago I had it set up professionally and bought a better case for it. The only thing is that it has what I think it known as the normal Ibanez neck crack in the paint around the neck, but it's not much.
Your figures come as a relief to me as I had in mind that I would part with it for around £600 including it's hardcase.
Unfortunately I'm in Devon though as I can see your in Yorkshire!
If you are interested I can take some more detailed pics?

Cheers and thanks for your reply

Hi

Yeah, distance is a downer. I am looking at an RG760 at the moment but please by all means do get some photos to me.
Would like to see more of the guitar & see if anything further develops.

All the best
