1988 Charvel Model 5A "Fire Crackle" Modified

Not sure if I'll keep it or not yet...but...

Missing a lock nut screw/piece, one of the funky covers over the string retainer block and has a non-original bar for the Jackson OFR...oh...and the added Neck HB (DiMarzio it appears) and 3 Way Toggle. Other than a couple chips on the headstock edge finish...it's clean.

My first electric I bought in 1989 had a finish like that. I remember at the time thinking how totally cool it was. A few years later, I remember hating it LOL. Very cool to see an old one like that still in great shape.

I had a Cort back in the day with a similar finish but it was white on black rather than red. It also had a built in distortion unit that sounded horrible... that was a good purchase. I might have to checkout the bay....

Re: 1988 Charvel Model 5A "Fire Crackle" Modified

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the kind words. Got a replacement nut on the way and may pop an OFR on it, but first I'm going to get it set up and see how I like it by playing it for a while, and if we don't bond, then I'll be putting it up for sale.

Really clean w/a cool finish and I (for one) like the modification of the Neck HB & 3 Way Toggle. Neck is a little thicker/wider than my other guitars so that's the part I'm concerned about getting use to really.
