I want to get back into playing after many years.
My last guitar was a 1989 RG560 I bought new in 89.
It seems like the closest thing available new is a 1570.
I really liked the candy apple finish. Anyway as I have been
out of playing for 10+ years I want to know how these
models compare. Should I hold out for a vintage RG or
is the 1570 the way to go. I am not an expert player but
I absolutely loved my RG560 and have always missed it.
After a trip to Memphis and the Gibson factory last year I
cant stop wanting to get back into it. So, lets hear it from you
experts - Vinatge or New RG ??

Thanks in advane for any and all comments.
BTW - a JEM would be wasted on me I think.

Go with any of the older RG 500 series guitars. You'll not regret it. Go llok around at how many Jemsiters have multiple RG 500 series guitars in their collections as opposed to multiple 1570s, etc. Not to say anything is wrong with the 1570, but the older ones just scream.

I recently sold an '89' RG560 to a customer/ friend of mine that I had swirled GMC, the guitar was awesome and the range of tones from the guitar blew me away as in the past I never favoured the single coil in the neck position, but the 560 was some thing else, I sold it for £300 GBP......... this was the 5th swirled Ibanez the guy had purchased from me since the beggining of May so I feel he had to have a bargain from me ;) . DUDE, GO FOR THE RG 560.
