Re: 1991 RG550L Maple

Leftys can go anywhere from $300 up past $700 depending on color, board type and condition, like a later model black one with a rosewood board may be only $300 but an original DY or RFR '87 may fetch a premium price.

As of late, whenever I do see a lefty, especially on the bay, they run at least $400. I went to GC's website, and they stated they had a lefty one in Overland Park, KS for $401.

Yes, the maple boarded ones rarely dip below $400.

It looks very clean, UPS Priority AM today at 7:18 a.m. delivered. This certainly could be addictive at these prices, (I'm used to high end Gibsons). I think I want a Desert Yellow now. Mine is black with maple.

Re: 1991 RG550L Maple

I've only ever seen one lefty in DY on the bay over the last few years. I'd love to own one, especially since Yellow and Black together is one of the greatest things to me. But at this point I'd take anything better than my 470L. I love my 470, but I'd like a nicer neck with a better trem. Enjoy your purchase!

I noticed wear marks in the maple neck right above the B and E strings on the first fret. The finish is worn there, kinda like an old 50's strat vibe, it's subtle but adds grunge era MOJO. Anybody else with this maple wear action? Show pics!!! I haven't figured out how to yet.

If you go to the "RG565 5 way switch" thread by Garwoo, that's my friends "new" RG565. It had some pretty good staining on the fretboard when he bought it. He has since removed most of the staining. We're trying to get some pics of that up soon, as well.

Thumbs up Re: 1991 RG550L Maple

Its an excellent guitar and I really like my Ibanez RG 550L alot.
I bought my guitar used and had to clean it up, but its worth it because the neck is really sweet and the guitar sounds great.
