I’d like to start a debate here. Back in the old days Ibanez came out with the rg500 series in 1987, those models where re-introduced in the late 90s with the three piece necks, Which do you prefer and why?

Are you talking about the 500 RG's. Or does that also include the 540 R, and S?

iMO the bubinga stripe Super Wizard is the best neck Ibanez ever made. The modern five piece is a very close second.

The original Wizard for me, although I recognize the bubinga stripe was an improvement to avoidcneck twists. The new ones are too wide for me.

Yeah I love them, I’ve got quite a few ibanezs with that neck, the rg520qs felt the nicest to me tho, no difference between a prestige, even a j custom. Don’t care what anyone says, playability can only get so good.
