2003 RG170

Question about the basswood on the RG170... is this the same basswood used on other ibanez guitars such as the RG320, RG321 etc... and not some other substitute basswood used to make the RG170?

also does anyone know if the wilkinson guitar bridge trem with roller saddles can replace the existing trem on the RG170 and has anyone had any experience on this trem?

check the ibanez 2003 U.K catalogue and the U.K website

In U.K and Europe (i think in Europe too) the RG170 is a Deluxe model with next binding, sharkfin inlays, available in Black or Canal Dark Blue and made out of basswood

see it here:

i guess the U.S and Europe ones are different, but do you know if they used a different maybe cheaper version of Basswood to make the RG170?

right... because the reason i'm asking is i find it strange as the RG170 (with trem) is cheaper than the RG321 (hardtail) and usually with Ibanez, it's the guitars with trems that are more expensive so i am just wondering if Ibanez used a different perhaps cheaper basswood to build the RG170

I think I read somewhere that the Korean basswood guitars are a little rounder on the edges due to the "poorer" workmanship.
