2007 RG550 reissue. Deal or no deal

Just bought an RG550 reissue off of ebay. I was a little apprehensive but I have been regretting selling my older RG550 since I sold it 5 years ago. DAMMIT! Sorry it brings out the worst in me when I think about it. Anyway I got the reissue from a dealer for $720, free shipping, 20th annaversity case with all the documentation and case candy. The pick guard still had the plastic on it. The setup is fantastic even after shipping it half way across the country. All I had to do is put new strings on it and get after it. So my question is. Is this a deal or did I take it up the shoot on this? What are your thoughts on the RG550 reissues?

Got some Evo pickups and thought about putting them in or should I keep it original?

This is tough because only you know if it was worth it. Do you like it? Does it satisfy the urge you had to replace your original 550? If you answered yes to these questions then it was worth it no matter how much you paid for it. Who cares what someone else thinks.
Nice score, BTW!

Your right. I'm satisfied. At least until I hear of someone getting one for $650 but what the heck.

Re: 2007 RG550 reissue. Deal or no deal

Well, I gotta say, $720 shipped is a GREAT price for a 550 20th. then the fact that it's in great to mint condition......... there's your answer.

It all depends on what color you got though....If it's a DY, you got hosed and your only recourse is to sell it to me for it's actual value of .......... ummmm........ $185 ????

Just kidding... you did really well

FWIW.... the re-issues all go for $1000-$1200, and sometimes even more than that.

Even at its original price of $900 it was a steal. My opinion - great score! No matter the color!

You just made me a happy dude. I have seen some on ebay but backed down due to the price. $900 is my breaking point. I can't go past that or my wife would shove that RG so far up me you would only see the whammy bar. Going to sell my two of my fenders (strat and Telly) to make room for more Ibbys

Its a good deal depending on the color the desert yellow and road flare red both run at a premium to the black one with the rosewood board.

Where are seeing the 20th's selling for those prices? I'm seeing $650 - $900 depending on condition.

Re: 2007 RG550 reissue. Deal or no deal

I had all 3 colors of the reissues with all the case candy, hang tags, plastic still on the pickgaurd etc. All new and unplayed, absolutely mint.

I tried to sell the DY and RFR for months here and on CL. No luck at all.

I finally ended up selling them both to a guy locally for $1400 cash.

I think $720 shipped for near mint is good and I have personally not seen them sell for much more than that.

At least that has been my experience.

I still have the black with rosewood board but I think I'm keeping it. Right it now it's just sitting in the case...untouched and unused.

I have way too many guitars.

Re: 2007 RG550 reissue. Deal or no deal

RG550 20ths for under a grand? Where? Are we talking about completed deals or seeing them "for sale". Those are two different things. If we me "for sale", I never see them for less that $1000. When I was considering buying one from a Jemsite member, it would have been about $1100 shipped, IIRC. Maybe everyone who wants one has one.
