2015 RG Tremolo Change? Thoughts?
I have been planning to buy either an S or RG standard guitar for quite a while non and since I finally have enough money to do so, I decided to check on the Ibanez website again.
Having constantly checked the website for about a year now, I've realized that there's been a change in the tremolos which the 2015 RGs are fitted with. More specifically, RGs in 2015 come fitted with "Std. DL tremolo bridge"s, as opposed to the Edge-Zero 2 tremolos. Even in the parts catalog it states that the new tremolos are the "2TR1MAA001"s.
Is there a reason for this change? After all, I was looking forward to the tension adjustment screw, which some people raved about when it was introduced. However, some say the Edge-Zero 2 bridge was faulty and they preferred versions with other tremolo bridges. Am I better off searching for a 2014 RG or taking the new tremolos? What are your thoughts?
