The 2027 has been discontinued

This has just been confirmed by Hoshino Dealer Service. Too bad as it leaves a large gap between the Korean 7's and the UV, with only the K-7 in the middle. Guess they dropped all their eggs in the Barritone basket.

The 2027 has been discontinued

Can anyone explain this? I have no idea to actual sales, but the 2027 always seemed to have a much bigger buzz than both 2020s combined. Maybe it was just selective attention on my part. I know a lot of people on this forum swear by the 2027, anyway.

I can't help but see this as a major mistake. The K-7 is unmistakable a "Korn" guitar thanks to the inlay, and I don't know exactly how large the market is for Korn fans looking to spend $1300 on a new guitar (no offense to those that are in that market of course).

The Baritone Prestige is cheaper than I would have expected. Was this done as an attempt to fill the big gap between the Korean 7s and the UV and K-7?

I belive the baritone's are taking that gap. I wish there were more options, but thats the way it goes sometimes. I think I'm gonna cry about the 2027 Ive sworn up and down for that thing all year.

If your having a bad time with buzzing on your 2027 take it in and have someone work on it. Mine hasnt had to be touched, and it still has less than a UV. There has to be something wrong truss rod, floyed rose height, or otherwise.

back to the tears

Tagg 7- I think you may have misunderstood me. I meant "buzz" as in "a great deal of interest."

The 2027 seemed to get the lion's share of the attention among the production double-edge guitars around here.

Oh great! I’ve already had a bad enough day. Now my second favorite “must acquire” guitar falls into the chasm of the rare and expensive, used guitar price zone.

Does this mean goodbye to the double edge bridge? Ah… who cares. I can’t play acoustic stuff worth a dam anyway.

Well, it's gone the way of SoundGarden now. *
I was gonna cuss up a storm, but I'll keep that to myself. *In my post preview, it wasn't censored, so I didnt want to risk getting a 2 week ban for a joke.

Discontinued? *What a frikin shame. *Now I'll never get one.

The grx is made in China. Not to mention(well at least the one I saw) looked like a three year old made it. I know which ones they are talking about(I'm guessing the ax221 and the rg74xx models) and I can't beleave Ibanez did not try to save a few bucks and make them in Korea.

Also I wish Ibanez would have held out on the K-7's at least for another year or two for two reasons, first so I could a new amp and second reason is so the main Korn fan base could mature( or at least get older) and get jobs so the K-7 would have a better chance to survive.

This is bad news. I don't understand what they are thinking at Ibanez. They discontinued the 2027 and the 7620 in the same year? They should have at least kept the 7620, it added an option that's not there now. If you want a Japanese made 7, you must go Korn or Vai now, I know several people who don't like either but were in the market for a 7 string. Now I guess they must buy used. Thankfully the 7620's are quite affordable used. I don't think the 2027 will increase in the used price since the discontinuation. They will just be harder to find...

I think Ibanez is counting on the first wave of Korn fans to buy this K-7. Remember that they came out quite a while ago. I was one of the first big Korn fans. I think I was 15 or 16. Now I'm 21. Dont get me wrong I dont really care for Korn and havent for some years, but now is a good time for them to release the K-7. I think they are trying to get the guitar out befor kids my age get too old, too mature, or too involved in regular life. Ofcourse the sales will trickle down to 16 and older at least.

Is it just me or does it seem like most of the Ibanez guitars we like best are discontinued models.

That makes Rich our best friend.

I was quite surprised at the price of a 2027 compared to a 7620 considering piezos etc. and in Britain only a difference of £199 *for Mohogany no inlays a stain and piezos.

Too bad they are stopping it it's the best 7 out there.

Pablo

P.S. I'm back

p.p.s. I pick my 2027 up on Friday

p.p.p.s I feel surprisingly smug just now

p.p.p.p.s Sorry
