the 2077 is here!

FINALLY

the guitar came tuned to A - I'd like to tune it to B - do I have to adjust anything else other than strings? (just for the record, the bridge is currently not parallel with guitar's body but is slanted at the end where the fine tuners are - is this ok?)

thx!

edit: I was trying to level the bridge with the guitar body by turning the screws where the tremolo springs are but the thing won't move
one more thing - if I play the low b and then bend the g string or b the low b goes out of tune during the bend (will I have to add more springs or?)

Welcome to the world of the floating system...bend any string and the others go flat... Everyone learns to live with it. Most people know the feel of their guitars and get around without much bother from it. But it is a fact of life with trems. They go flat when you bend a string because the added tension is pulling the bridge forward (up). You'll get used to it...lol

I completely overlooked this fact when I began chosing my next guitar - this is somewhat limiting!

sam669 - will the springs solve the problem? I read somewhere that adding springs isn't enough, someone suggested a device called tremsetter - but I'm kind of worried it would tighten the strings too much - the xl already has a bit more tension than a normal guitar

what about my other problem, tuning the guitar to B? I tuned it now to A# and the trem is a bit lifted (I think I am near the point of no more space for the screws to go in) - will the springs help?

i really cant tell without seeing the thing...
the springs solved the problem of playing two notes and having the unbent one getting detuned, for me at least. (never had that problem on my guitars though, and I touch wood for it not to ever happen!)

what's the string gauge btw?

I have 9s in there I plan on going to 10s probably but I presume the tension would be too much, I have it tuned to A# now and the tension level is a bit above normal (still bearable though)

I have three springs now, how many more would you recommend, one or two? oh yeah - if I pop in one spring I have to rearrange them so there's no middle spring right?

what I'm saying is, will I have to arrange them in this way:

spring
spring
empty space
spring
spring

?

thx

you can see it at the official Ibanez website - www.ibanez.com

I have one more question about the guitar and it concerns the p-ups: as I've realized, I can change the height of the little receivers on the pickups thus fine tuning every strings sound. so, can you give me some advices about this?
