22 VS 24! The Battle of Tone or Creativity!

Alright guys, here's the battle. Would you rather have a 22 fret neck...or a 24? Is the tone change significant enough for you to stay faithful to the 22/23 fret necks? or is your creativity need 1-2 more frets to really bust them chops up?

The tone on a 22 isn't BETTER, it's just different, and more traditional. Personally, that's my preference, but prolly just because my first guitar was like that.

As for creativity, if you need one more whole step to enhance your creativity, you got problems...

with 24 fret guitar... i can easily reach 22nd fret but with 22 fret guitar... hard to reach / uncomfortable to play at 22nd fret.
that y i choose 24 fret guitar.

The tone difference between the two is pretty negligable as far as I'm concerned, there is a noticably different feel, and I tend to prefer the feel of a 22 fret neck as opposed to one with 24.

Personally, while I like the added range 24 frets provide, especially as far as tapping is concerned, I've found that strat necks are almost perfect to me, so unless Fender (or G&L preferably) start making 24 fret strats, I'll do without.

As Jester said, if you need one more whole step to enchance your creativity, you've got problems.

It depends on whether I want to bend to an F# (26th fret sound) or not in a particular tune. If not, I play a 22. If yes, I play a 24 and keep my high E string alive for another day

i use both and dont feel a problem with either, they feel a great deal different but both are nice to play on a nice guitar, as has already been said its just about weather you want to go even higher.

i think tone difference is very small
