3 Way Switch vs 5 Way Switch

Noticed a little while ago.... here in New Zealand I bought an RG7321 and an RG7421 and they both came with a 5 way switch as standard...but in the US (according to the Ibanez site) they come standard with a 3 way switch.....

Anyone know as to why the 2 different options for different parts of the world?

The USA people cannot handle 5 positions, therefore they put in a 3 position switch

Bingo!

I am still having trouble with 3 positions. 5 positions... I'll start playing drums before I figure that out...

disagree. pos 2 on an rg550 has the lowest noise and the best focused acoustic sound at the same time
