5 holes in my neck heel?

RG350DXL.
I don't think I ever seen that before.
I had the neck off a few times before I brought it in for a setup and I can't remember if that 5th hole was there or not. Crazy. The hole is deeper than the other 4 neck bolt holes.

I have an RG470 neck with that too. Think it was probably to hold the neck for finishing in the factory.

Yup I've seen this several times, including on my AANJ RG420. Not sure exactly why it's there but it seems to be relatively common.

Re: 5 holes in my neck heel?

ok. I guess nothing to worry about. I wasn't sure if I should plug it and perhaps save some tone.

Carefully placed resonant chamber drilled at a precise spot in the heel infused with the breath of Salvador Ibanez himself.

I think each of my necks has this too.

Re: 5 holes in my neck heel?

I think it's for the factory machines CNC-ing your neck. Then again. I might be wrong.

It's for tooling. No biggie. Stick potpourri in there.

Just to be safe, you might want to check in there for termites.
