Re: 500.00 dollars

$500 will get you a 700 series RG with a bit of shopping around.

Other models that fall into that range or any of the 500 series RGs, or even a 1500 series Prestige.

Re: 500.00 dollars

really like the 2610e. i see'em on the bay from time to time. is that model MIJ ? also seen some 1550's that look good. i really would like one with the HH setup. not to crazy about the single coil in the center of a guitar. i'm gonna go single hum or double hum. which ever way it has to be MIJ like my MIJ 2001 rg470. i've got a vbt700 and dont want another indonisa(spelling?). any more model's i dont know about?

Re: 500.00 dollars

If you want MIJ and no single coil, it sounds like you should look for an RG520

Check out the 'bay or your local craigslist. Telling us where you are would help too.

Rock on!

Re: 500.00 dollars

Highly recommend looking for an RG770 as it fits all of your criteria. You probably won't find a 770DX in that price range these days, what with the recent reissue driving up prices somewhat, but the regular 770 is still a killer guitar and can probably be had near that price range.

EDIT: Just noticed the note about single coils. If it's a sound issue (I'm with you), you could always wire it up a little different to not use the single, though if it's an appearance issue, then everything I said above is probably worthless. Though the 770 is still a sweet guitar.

Re: 500.00 dollars

Or get a 550 or any front routed RG and get a new HH pickguard made. That's what I'm doing to my RG2550ZGW.
