565 Finally Coming Home

I sent this off back in March in hopes that it would be rebuilt in time for Jemfest, but no such luck. I know there aren't many holoflash fans here, but I thought I would share anyhow.

This pic is not touched up or enhanced, those are the true colors, which change depending upon movement of the guitar.

I haven't seen the headstock yet, but if all went well, the Ibanez logo has been done in holoflash on a gloss black background. *fingers crossed*

Ok, that's just cool.

Let us see when it's done!

I'd sure like to know how that's done. I wonder if the secret is as guarded as the swirls

I have been sworn to secrecy. There are two shops that I know of that know how to do this finish.

One shop is used by Spector basses - I had one done there (the LACS RG) but I had to ask Stuart Spector for permission.

The guy who has this one used to work for Kramer in the eighties, but now runs a renown custom bike shop. He won't talk about how it is done.

If you want the work done, you have to go through me, because this guy is weird about it.

Dennis, you and your family are welcome here anytime at all. He's shipping the guitar back this Friday morning.

Knightmeir,

Sweet! Must look incredible in person. I was told by someone that mine wasn't Holoflash - they said it was "flip-flop" paint.

I told him he should feed his seeing eye dog before the thing starves to death.

Pics of the headstock when you get it back!

Wow, finally got it back today. They messed up my instructions regarding the headstock, so the headstock matches the body, but no Ibanez logo.

OK, keep in mind that when you don't see the colors in the paint job, the guitar looks like it's silver.

Next problem - inlays. The inlays are laser blue. Should I leave them that way? Any recommendations? Black? Silver? I dunno...

Also any advice pertaining to the re-application of a logo would be greatly appreciated as well.

I'll have it rebuilt after I address these issues, so no more pics until then.

Just a black Ibanez logo decal on the headstock would look cool.

Lazer blue inlays? Are they dot, or what?

Is it lefty?

It's a reverse headstock, and the inlays are LB dots.

I am thinking a logo like the Prestige logo - just "Ibanez" with no check mark.
