570 worth it??

Ran into a Ibanez RG 570 Original Edge (kinda beat up) missing the bar and the little part that holds the string in place on one saddle, Sparkle Blue, Great feeling neck, the action could be lowered a bit....it has V7 and V8 Pickups, No crack's or chunks of wood missing....they want $349

How do the frets look. The rest looks a mite ruff. Offer them 250

I'd give them $300 for it max. That board looks really dark which is cool. Bet it would look really nice cleaned up.

Re: 570 worth it??

I thought 517's came in these sparkle colors?
regardless, agreed with brothersnowgone. Edge is rusted, missing 2 string blocks and it's missing a switch tip... that should knock off a few from the original asking price... replacing all the missing parts [from Rich] shouldn't be too expensive...
cleaning that bridge isn't going to be fun though...

$225.00, just because the bridge is going to need a lot of work (and expense), and that awful metalflake finish.

For the record, it's a RG517 Sparkle Blue.

How can you tell? It looks like any ol' RG to me.

Can you please, outline a few characteristics that make the 517 & 570's different?

[My-2cents=worth] With the work the Floyd needs and not having a good view of the neck/board/frets, I'd say mid-low $200's[/My-2cents=worth]

It's an RG517 Sparkle Blue.

If it were in a little better shape, I'd say it's worth it.

It's definitely gonna need some work.

570s never came in these colors. 517s did. I think that's the only characteristic.

Re: 570 worth it??

How hard are the screws to turn, all the screws on the trem that is. The blocks will be dirt cheap, and if the screws turn, then you would be getting a very nice Japanese made RG.. I see nothing wrong with paying $350 for it. If you clean the edge up, it will be wroth half of that price. The neck is worth half of that price as is... If you like it, you should get it, I wouldn't insult them by offering less than $350 if mechanically the trem is operating well.
Who gives a **** what it looks like, if it plays well, and the trem does it's job, then for $350 you just snagged a great player.

Another thing real quick: I think the price of $350 is adjusted to accomodate the fact that the trem is dirty and needs string blocks. If it were flawless it would sell for more than $350. It would kind of be like buying a project car for $500 and saying the price should be dropped cause it needs paint.
