RG7620, RG1527. Hardtail - RG7621 or RG7421XL.

+ you can get it below that price range new, mod its shortcomings (tuners, pickups) and still be in that price range instead of buying used.

I got my RG7321 and had the pickups replaced with DiMarzios and put on Schaller locking tuners. The guitar rules. The tech that did the pickups also did a little filing on the nut and put some graphite on... we'll see how it goes, but I may have a Graphtech nut put on as well.

$369 guitar + ~$225 parts and labor = $594

Re: 6 string lover has a question

I would also change the saddles for some graphtech ones, It's a cheap and easy thing to do. I did that on my 7321 and it has become a very reliable guitar. The stock saddles on mine kept snapping the strings, not any more though.

You're not the first person I've seen with that problem, though the saddles on mine are fine. I figure I'll hold off on replacing them until I'm ready to put in piezos

Re: 6 string lover has a question

yea, ill definetely be putting on locking tuners, graphite nut, and graph tech saddles. and when i have the money i might swap the pups. I was also wondering if the buzz feiten system would also be a good option?
