Which 7-string?

Hi everybody! I got to know this site by Roland (a friend of me). And I am looking for an Ibanez 7-string guitar. Now i am doubting between an RG7321 or an RG7420 (I'll find an amplifier on my own). What are the mayor differences between those two and how about the prices Ī??

Welcome to the Forum!

You can view the differences in most of the Ibanez 7-string models here:
http://www.jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/spec_ib7.htm

Basically, the RG7321 is a Korean-made fixed bridge guitar. The RG7420 is a Japanese-made guitar with the LoTRS7 tremolo. Ideally, you should be able to find a used RG7620 for a decent price. They're killer guitars and are top-notch in terms of quality and materials. LoPro7 trem, DiMarzio pickups, etc. The seem to be going for well under $500US used (some as low as $300-350 if you don't mind some finish wear).

Speaking from personal experience I would try to find a 7620 if youíre looking for something with a locking trem. I went with a 7420, for the sake of the dollar...and not knowing any better, and now Iím try to find a way to swing an edge 7 into the beast. The lower quality bridge was the only real downfall on the 7420.
