7 String Locking Nut for Left Hand

Anybody know where I can get a hold of a 7 string locking nut for a left handed guitar! Actually I don't need it myself, Jeremy does at LGM Guitars. He is making me a left handed 7 string and is a having a hard time tracking the locking nut down.

Any help what soever would appreciated

Kind Regards

André

Maybe I should do that . He would then propably claim that his locking nuts are better than anyone else and that they are made in U.S.A. and bla bla bla .....

Why not use a GraphTech nut and some locking tuners?

Will that work when the bridge is a lo-pro edge 7 tremolo system (right converted to left).

I looked a bit around on the internet and I found a left handed 7 string by Ibanez, i.e. RG7420LBP. Does anybody know where to get parts for that, i.e. the locking nut?

Kind Regards

André

Ibanez has been contacted, what they do remains to be seen yet LOL. I know the guitar has been out of production for quite some time, so I would imagine that it would be NOS parts.

As I have already ordered regular left hand tuners for this guitar, I would prefer to find a lock nut, I can modify a right handed one, but would prefer to find a lefty, Carvin has been contacted (thanks Eddie) and now Schaller is being contacted.

We'll make it work one way or the other

You could also try http://guitarpartsdepot.com ... they carry a 7-string locking nut and a complete 7-string Floyd kit.

Just looked at the website that Darren juggested and they have a L.H. 7 string Floyd Rose tremolo system where a 48 mm locking nut is included. But not as a available part is the locking nut listed!

Kind Regards

André

You could email them and see if they might sell you the nut on its own.

Darren, thanks for the link, they do have the lock nuts seperate no problem, and they are very inexpensive, (however I fear they may be the softer metal ones that I've seen a few times) anyway, I should know on monday if Ibanez has any in stock, if they do then great, if not, I'll order from that place, do you happen to know what their minimum order is? They don't have much of anything outside of that nut that I'm interested in, and it told me it wasn't enough for their minimum order :S

I think you'll find the 7420 nut to be soft Korean made also, and at a higher price because it's "factory" hardware opposed to aftermarket

actually, oddly enough I have a lefty 7420 here right now for a JPM graphic, and the nut seems to be the better quality.

Only reason I say this is because I looked at the threads and they aren't worn or rounded over like the cheaper metal usually is.

But, you could be right, and dependant on the cost, I may just deal with that place Darren linked to anyway
