92 RG570, or is it?

Just picked up an RG series guitar to refinish. Looking at the serial number it seems to be a '92 model with a square heel, it has an edge tremelo by the looks of it. I have pulled the neck and it says RG470R, the body says RG570. I dont really care if its a bitsa guitar but interested in your guys opinions..What throws me is the unnamed pickups.....ReRanch vintage cream with a clear finish is in its near future!!

Let's see rhe back of the body. If there's an output jack cover plate and a barrel jack--it's a 570. If there is no cover and a jackplate, it's an early MIJ 470.

There is no jack plate, the jack is recessed into the body, it also has a cover. Could the neck be original even though it has RG470R marked on it? How about those covered pick ups, after market?

Thanks for your feedback

Looks like a parts guitar.

Re: 92 RG570, or is it?

It could be the original neck. I have an RG7420 with a neck stamped RG7620. So while it's entirely possible that you have a parts guitar (and the pickups seem like replacements), it's also possible that at the very least, that could be the original neck.

There's some odd stuff out there. I have a 1993 RG370 (verified by checking the neck and body stamps) which was made in Japan, square heel, jack plate, V6 pickups with mounting rings, chrome knobs, original Edge bridge. Odd guitar that probably shouldn't exist but does. It was bought brand new from a store which had several of them in stock right before Christmas in 1993, but I've only ever really heard of them being sold in Australia. Probably a special order from the distributor or something.

Thanks for the replies, any ideas on the pickups? They have no branding on the back just a completely flat face/cover?
