Re: action adjustment trouble

It the thread or bolt where the treble side of the trem (high e) sitting all cross threaded?

It sounds like one of the two trem bolts is stripped and won't go down. Can you raise the action, too or is the action on that side of the trem locked into one height?

That's an odd one. I would PM Rich Harris (Ibanez Rules) on this one. Maybe it's a known issue with Edge Pro II.

Re: action adjustment trouble

When you can explain how the bolt goes up and down but the action doesn't you'll have your answer.

Re: action adjustment trouble

ive took it apart and im stumped...could it possibly be the knife blade on that side...the bolt itself doesnt apear to be damaged on the threads or the grove that the blade sets in...lol

Re: action adjustment trouble

It's very simple, if the bolt is going up and down, so is the trem.

Re: action adjustment trouble

according to the gauge that i put on the body and measure to the top or the trem. plate that holds the saddles its not moving and when i guage it at the 24th fret the low e is 2-2.25 and the high e stays at 3 but the screw does go up and down and the action is still at 3

Re: action adjustment trouble

Measure the height of the top of the screw, is it going up, or is the anchor just spinning?

Re: action adjustment trouble

Which makes no sense.

Take the bridge off [with strings on], screw the bolt down, then put the bridge back on.

Re: action adjustment trouble

I wonder if the bridge is hitting the body so it can't go lower?

Or, the neck is at a way of angle to the body.

Post some pics, many!

THIS^^^

Either the knife edge is coming out of the groove on the stud when your threading it into the body, or the anchor your screwing the stud down into is spinning.

Re: action adjustment trouble

the anchor cant spin both of them are attached together their made into a steel plate...but i think i have figured it out...when i try to lower the action and screw the stud in the knife edge does slip out of the groove in the stud...after looking at it over and over the cause is the saddle screws on that side of the trem they stick out through the baseplate by at least 1/8 in. if not more..so im going to file them flush with the plate and i feel like that should fix all my troubles
