my friend wants to buy a 7-string. since you can really get them here (Israel), he's having his uncle from Australia buy and ship it to him, so he can't really test them. i think he's dumb for buying a guitar without tryting it, but whatever. anyway, these are the models available: (all Ibanez)
which one would you reccomend?

thanks in advance

If you can get a RG7620, that would be the suggested route by most on this forum. DiMarzio pickups, LoPro trem are desired features.

The RG7420 is better than many give them credit for. The V8 and V7 pickups, are better than many stock pickups on the market. It also has the much maligned LoTRS trem (not a TRS2, big difference). The trem, if maintained properly will provide excellent stability and reliability.

The GRX720 is strictly entry level. Non-locking trem, 22 frets (as opposed to 24 on the RGs), and somewhat weak pickups. If you must have a seven string and are short on funds, this will work.

7620 or the 7420. Personally the 7620 is nicer due to thew bridge, I don't mind eithe type, but the edge is nicer feel wise.

Anyway, apart from that, buying a guitar blindly isn't that bad, I've done it twice now (both UV's) and got two quality guitars out of it. If it's bought new then you'll have nothing to worry about it.

but go for the 7620

No excuse to go for a 7420 when you can score a nearly new 7620 for about the same price. In the states, anyway, not sure what the Austrailian market is. For the price, the 7620 houses every other 7 out there from any major manufacturer.
