Glad you dig it.
Yeah,the body is Aluminium.
It's actually all hand fabricated from 1/16th" aluminum plate so it's basically a semi-acoustic.Hollow apart from a sort of 'frame' inside and a real solid block of aluminum that the strings go through and the bridge is fixed to.
The guy who built it must really know what he's doing as far as welding aluminum goes.
He's basically cut out a top and bottom sheet, welded the internal struts and braces to those and then wrapped the side piece all the way around and welded that on.
He must have done some pretty accurate grinding then to make it all neat and stuff and then polished the crap out of it.
He does Strat bodies too.He actually made some for Fender when they did their original runs of Aluminium Strats (they did a few, very few,Tele's too)but Fender charged a fortune for them.
The sound is absoultely stunning!!!!!!!!
It's not at all metallic like you'd expect. It just sounds like all the good sound qualities from every type of wood and it's got a real nice 'precise' sound to it.
The Bareknuckles pickup is amazing too so i don't know how much of the guitars sound is down to that.
I did have a Fender noisless single-coil in the neck position but it just couldn't compete with the bridge Warpig so i'm gonna' put another BKP in there instead.
I always loved Tele's and i just wanted one that was a bit different.Something to stand out in the crowd a bit,and this certainly does that.
