Anderson 7 string pu's? Sold by warmoth.

Has anyone got some experiences with those pups? Looking into a replacement for my rg1527. Those stock pups are way better than i suspected them to be, but still can be better. Thought it might be interesting to check those Andersons.
Rio Grande also caught my attention but jim soloway sayd somewhere that they are VERY loud and noisy

I've tried the Anderson's and didn't like them either. I found them to be cold and wimpy. I gues I've tried just about everything for a 7-string other then EMG's. It's kind of a byproduct of having owned 33 7-strings. My favorites are consistently DiMarzio's. It almost doesn't matter which models. They just seem to understand 7-string better than everyone else.

I've send a mail to Anderson and hope they can tell me some more about the pu's. I'm also somewhat attracted to the duncan jb/jazz combo. Just to see what all the fuzz is about with duncan sounding more organic and stuff... I've always been a dimarzio guy, but i just want to try something different this time (hope i won't regret it ).

Anderson will tell you "It's like a strat pickup, but wound a bit hotter"

I have Bartolinis in my 7620, but I also have a Frank Falbo preamp in the guitar. With the preamp on, they're godly. Without, they're not so godly ;-)

I've had both the jb/jazz combo and the 59/jazz combo and I thought they were both very good. I prefer the DiMarzio PAF-7/Air Norton-7 but that's probably just a matter of personal taste.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys. And Jim, thanks for the opinion on the duncans. Good to know there good quality, doesn't make it any easier to chose either duncan or anderson

Anyway, here's the advice from anderson. Short but clear:
Quote:
the bridge humbucker is like our H2+, the single coil is like our SN1, and the neck humbucker is like our H1-. tom
i probably will buy the single coil and have it built in my guitar. Not sure about the humbuckers yet...
