Another unknown Ibanez model...

I've seen photos of a few of these in the last couple of years, and i really like the shape. But Ibanez only seems to be making this body style for Ibanez-endorsed artists.

Here's a screen grab from a 3 Doors Down video where one of their guitarists is playing one...

Does anybody know what this model is called, and if Ibanez has any plans to make it a regular production model? It almost looks like a single-cutaway Artist model.

I would kill for a 7-string version of this with no inlay.

They made them for years, look through the old catalogs, like 78'.

Re: Another unknown Ibanez model...

Actually it looks like one of the shapes I designed for Cort before I left. They needed to change the Les Paul to avoid Gibson's legal vomit. Cort made them in the later '90s and they're not on the website now. But if by any chance that's a Korean Ibanez, then it's probably the same guitar. But there's no way to really tell. If it's a Japanese custom shop then it's just a reinvention of the old designs. I mean I was just reinventing old designs, too. But what I'm saying is that if those are Korean then it's probably the exact same. Does that make sense?

Re: Another unknown Ibanez model...

Actually I just went and found a catalog. They're in the 2000 catalog, and it's pretty close. Maybe the bass side cutaway (I know it's not a cutaway but it's the only way I can describe it) is a little more pronounced on the Cort. Anyway it's the CL series and they made some hollow with vine inlays and F-holes.

Hello? It lookes like something a drunk Gibson and a horny PRS could produce (not thinking of the actual personas). You should not think that looks good. If you do, you're getting old...

Re: Another unknown Ibanez model...

I like to think of it as "growing more mature".

Pointy guitars and flashy paintjobs just aren't my thing anymore. I'm more interested in timeless, tasteful, classic design.

Nothing is timeless if you know enough about it. I can understand you, but it's a long way from flashy Ibanez to plain Gibsons.
