Re: Any Carvin fans in here?

Dino -is your Koa CT6 fatter or brighter than the Mahogany ones ? Or both - Ha!

And I guess I should ask about the sustain( even though I have a pretty good idea of what you're going to say.............)

What are the tones like generally?

I've thought of an all Koa Ct3- just hoping they'll soon offer a single coil in between the two humbuckers.

Sustain is great, I have never really spent any time playing the regular mahogany version so I can't really tell you the difference. It does seem to be fat, yet defined at the same time. It's not muddy like a LP or smooth and generic like a PRS, kinda has it's own sound. There is some bite in there that is hard to describe.

Re: Any Carvin fans in here?

I don't post here much, but I have a C66 due to be finished next week, I'll be sure to post pics when it arrives. There's a few non-standard options I'm getting and I'll lay it all out when the guitar arrives.

I noticed that the guitars in the showroom were not set up very well when I was there. Also, they are very crisp from the factory you have to play them in a little bit.

Re: Any Carvin fans in here?

I always wanted a Carvin but sadly the no longer sell them in Europe over resellers, only direct from USA and they do not offer such nice shipping options as Rich, so it will cost a fortune...
