Anybody here had an RG-550 swirled?? - Thinking of a project
I was thinking about getting an old 550 and having Herc swirl it...I think these have a front route like a strat, so I was wondering what to do about the pickguard? *Has anyone here had this done and what did you do?

Just buya pickguard that matches whatever colors you have the body swirled. Try Jeannie Pickguards:

Could you have Herc Swirrl *the body then match the swirrl to the pickguard? I have no doubts the dude coudl do it. He's amazing. Amd ya i know that the swirls are random BUT, he could swirl it so its close and then match up the lines or something.
Or, you could have the pickguard swirrled in a different set of collors.... I think some different color schemes could look VERY cool. Red white and black swirrled body... blue black and white swirrled pickguard.... Just someting to think about. And in that case the pattern wouldnt have to match. and then you could have it send to *Jeremy for a red white and blue pyramid done *LOL* Ok now I'm just getting carried away and its NOT EVEN MY GUITAR! I think i have a problem..... :idunno:

Herc and Darren can do a control cavity cover, basically they add a little piece of wood into the body to cover it, swirl the whole thing, and put a clear pickguard on it.

Herc Fede, the "other" swirl artist. *Darren is still the man IMO, but Herc does decent work too.

Eric Sands had his RG550 done by Herc Fede, a nice looking purple and black swirl that I really liked with a clear P.G. One of my personal faves.

Just emailed 'em about getting my 550 done, including the headstock and a vine inlay on the fretboard..
