Re: Is anyone gonna mod their RG20th?

The only things I would mod, if I'll ever be able to afford it and will get one, is yellow/green pups and knobs for the DY and red for the RFR

If I were to get the black one, would probably refinish to RFR with a yellow pickguard.

But for that to happen I need to win some lottery or something, and for that to win I'd have to start filling lottery tickets.
So it won't happen anytime soon. :\

I don't consider changing anything on a guitar that can easily be returned to factory spec a "mod".

I mean com' on. Changing pickups is something that a lot of folks end up doing on almost any guitar. It's not that common to get the pickups you like in a guitar as OEM.

I agree, but I think pickup change does fall under the "mod" category, though it probably doesn't deserve to. It is slightly modifying the guitar.

I'm gonna mod my DYRG550MXX by putting a Wizard II neck on it (with a rosewood board) and an Edge III bridge. Then I'll get it painted black and get the case vinyl dyed black.

Re: Is anyone gonna mod their RG20th?

Im only gonna change the pickups to red dimarzio's on my (hopefully) future RFR. Thats only if i dont like the v1 - v2 combo. I have v2ex on my old ibanez and i like them. But i think they're different from the standard v2. So i'm not sure yet

Re: Is anyone gonna mod their RG20th?

If I manage to get one I might change the pickups if I'm not too fond of them. I'd get a seperate pickgaurd for it to for ease of returning to standard. Althoug I do plan on keeping it if I get it.

I'm not changing a thing. I've ordered the RFR , and it's staying that way till my death. (which is hopfully not before May ) If you where to mod it any which way, you risk a chance of dummying up something. Any gouge or scratch will depreciate the guitar. And with this one, that's a shame.

Re: Is anyone gonna mod their RG20th?

for those learning the note positions on the freatboard.. that guitars got it already built in! I love the inlays!

Am i the only person that thinks that guitar is cool? Although it would look better without the flames on it.

Apparntly the gauge reads the voltage comming off the pickups.

It would be insane to hear all 4 humbuckers on at once.
