Anyone has any clues what's in store in 2016 for Ibanez?

I'm curious if someone has any scoops about what Ibanez will have for 2016.

What are your wishes?

There is a singlecut SR bass coming, not sure of the name of it though.

As far as 2016?

Ibanez has been using some REALLY nice maple fretbaords over the last year. I'm hoping that model makes it's way into the 752 lineup. Seriously- a white 752 with maple board and offset dots would make me very happy.

You guys prefer the maple board for the looks or tonal qualities?

Both PLUS the feel under my fingers. I was ALWAYS a rosewood guy because I hated the look of maple. I bought my first 550 a few years ago and fell in love with the feel and "snap" of maple.

for me it's the 'look'.
some colors look awesome with maple board, especially lighter colors.
And I have too many rosewood already, and somehow miss the maple.

Couldn't agree more. Although maple can be a cruel mistress for sloppy players like myself.

This was me as well, though I still really like rosewood too.
I wonder if there will be any maple board variants of existing models. Ibanez usually does a few of those. A maple board version of the blue RG652FX would be cool.

The BTB-686MSC singlecut on the right has been out for a while, the SR single on the left isn't out yet.

For some reason I have it in my brain that if it's not maple, it has to be a bound neck. I have 1 Rosewood (my 84 RS440) but won't buy another one.

The singlecut bass model as a class is not new, but the one on the left with the purpleheart fretboard is in fact new. Ibanez seems to be on a kick with trying lots of unusual woods these days. I like it!

If you stick with it the maple's less forgiving characteristics can make you tighter.
