Anyone have an SZ1220?

Never really heard of this guitar, but the prestige moniker is enticing... Thoughts?

Re: Anyone have an SZ1220?

Didn't buy one, but thought very seriously about it.

Sort of a more "nu-metal" PRS style instrument with a set neck and usually some rather nicely figured tops. I was going to get one to compliment my JS-6 in the fixed bridge department, but I ended up rediscovering my JS-6 instead.

Ugly headstock if you ask me though, it's "almost there" but could have been infinitely cooler if they'd really tried.

In the absence of my JS-6 and without the desire to splash out on a PRS, this is what I'd be looking at.

Re: Anyone have an SZ1220?

I have one.
It's great. I think it's the only SZ prestige made in Japan.
Great feel, great sustain, sounds (and looks) amazing.
Many would use it for heavy rock(expecially with stock pickup)...but i think that it could be great for jazz clean tones,or also for melodic solos in rock ballads.

Awesome guitar.... the G3 is a little soft IMO...I'd replace with an original Gibraltar.....Great tone from the V's.
