is anyone here familiar with AS-200 models

I've been trying to find info to verify what is listed as a 1998 AS200. It has a tulip shaped headstock. When I was trying to google search, including some catalogs from that year, most of the pictures I come across had the castle shaped headstock, while maybe 25% had the tulip shaped headstock. Does anyone know anything about these models?

BTW, the serial number on the back of the headstock is F98 XXXXX. I asked for a picture of the tag inside the upper cutout to confirm.

Thanks!

the as200 are queen/tulip shaped. The john sco models have the castle and lack the tri-sound switch. see the asf180 (full hollow as200 basically) link i posted earlier, also the old cats...

Thanks. The 1998 USA catalog on Rich's site has the tulip headstock model as well, like the link you shared. I was looking at a Japan 1998 catalog and it had the other "castle" style headstock: 1998 Japan catalog | Ibanez Wiki | Fandom powered by Wikia

I sold my Ibanez AS93 this week, and I want to move up to a nicer semi hollowbody style. Either the AS200 or the Gibson Midtown Custom. For basically the same price range, I like what I'm seeing in the Ibanez a bit more.

Sweet, def hoping I can pick this up. I never thought I'd be into the ES 335 style guitars, but I picked up the AS93 about 2 years ago to have around as knock around guitar, and something not as loud as full blown acoustic, and I ended up really digging it.

Good luck. That late 90s is a great era for Prestige & Prestige Artstar that's for sure. I think your jaw will drop if you get your hands on an excellent condition AS200 circa 1997.

Re: is anyone here familiar with AS-200 models

I have an AS80 from about 1998-99. It's great but I have such a bias against it being Korean I always want to upgrade it to as AS200. The truth is though it's great for what I use it for. It's my only non Japanese Ibanez so it gets made fun of on the playground.
