Re: Anyone playing the Highway One Strat?
The Highway One Strat is the only guitar I've ever sold. (Um, out of eight total.)
After the Edge on my RG550, I couldn't live with the trem. Went out of tune after trem usage and heavily bent notes. I know there are solutions to this (the only one I can immediately think of is blocking the trem), but I just couldn't be bothered. Since the RG gave me enough of a Strat tone to make me happy, I just got rid of the Highway One.
Build quality was fine, nice neck, the satin sunburst finish looked and felt great. I guess I'm just not a Strat guy.
A Telecaster is one of the guitars on my "want" list, and I am looking at the Highway One and American Special Teles.
Oh, that reminds me: if you're one of those players who liked the idea of saving some $$$ on an American Strat but you couldn't live with the semi-gloss finish, the American Special is for you. I have seen several of these and they look fantastic. The red/maple Strat is stunning!
