Re: Anyone see...

I like the 7 string, but why does the 6 string have a trem?

Re: Anyone see...

I posted that up on the "Other Ibanez Guitars" forum some weeks ago. I actually just recently did an order with with Ibanez and actually asked my rep about the RG7EX and RG6EX, he didn't know a thing about them but did tell me that some new models were coming in a couple months time(unfortunately he doesn't know what's coming in).

If I recall, the S520EX appeared in Japan maybe 3-4 months before it was released here and hopefully we'll be seeing the same with the RG7EX and RG6EX. Ibanez is obviously cashing in on the whole metal scene trying to take back some market share from ESP/LTD and Schecter(damien/hellraiser line).

Re: Anyone see...

I like the 6, pity it has EPII though, especially when coupled with high end EMG pickups etc. I would have thought they'd put a full fledged Edge Pro on it, seeing as I would expect it to be a higher model..saying that, it doesn't have Prestige written on it, so it could be quite a cheap guitar. Prestiges start at about £480 in the UK, so if it's not a Prestige, it might be even less than that.

Re: Anyone see...

Think of the RG6EX as an RGT42 with real EMG's in it 'cause that's all it is. (And the RG7EX as really just the RG7321 with EMGs). If you guys didn't know, the RG6EX and RG7EX like the S520EX is made in Korea. I wouldn't be surprised to see these Ibanez models roll out of the same Cort Factory as the ESP/LTD's and the Schecters.

Re: Anyone see...

I'm not really fond of 707's in the bridge position.

Probably not but a lot of people on this board have been asking for EMGs to come stock.

Re: Anyone see...

I'm all up for changes in the electronics, it's the seamingly ceaseless flow of black that gets me Ibanez has never been great about offering color choices, but come on Enough black (or 'iron pewter' in this case) already!

Re: Anyone see...

I'm guessing this model wasn't designed for the R and B market, so "naff black" probably makes sense, but yes, some colours would be nice now and again!

Re: Anyone see...

I just wish they were available here in the US... I think the 7 is sweet tho, but if it was a neck-thru with a trem like the 6 would be amazing, the 707 in the bridge doesnt bother me too much but I would take that out and put an 81-7 and leave the 707 in the neck. Ibanez needs to learn some things from all of us, agreed? lol
