ART series questions

Looking at Les Paul type guitars, does anyone know the differences beween the various ART models, the 120, 320 and 500, such has where they are made? The website really doesn't say much.

Thanks

Re: ART series questions

120, 320 and 500 ay? Well, can't see any 120 or 320, but I can see the 500.

But I can tell you the difference between the 100, 300 and 500.

- Well first up there's the fact that they are available in different finishes from each other.
- The ART500 and ART300 both have LZ1 pickups, and the ART100 uses ACH1 pickups.
- Different Controls designs
- Also different inlays and body textures (ART500 has all special inlays, ART300 has one special and dot inlays, and ART100 has one speicla on its own)

It would appear that the ART500 is the most deluxe version of the three.

This was all quickly found in the Ibanez website.

Hope it helps.

It would seem the 120 and 320 are Uk/European models. Try this link:

ibanez.co.jp/world/country/frame_uk.html with the www in front as I can't link yet

All have the LZ pups. On the surface the difference seems mainly cosmetic with different combinations of finishes and inlays. What interests me most are relative quality of the woods through the range, and where they're made. Whilst the 500 seems the most deluxe I'm not really interested in the fancy cosmetics. So beyond that is the 500 really better than the 320 is my big question.

As far as I can tell from the information I've seen, the key differences in models in the ART series are pickups/electronics configuration, finish options, and relatively minor cosmetic differences. I believe they are all made in China, and they all feature set-neck mahogany construction.

I recently acquired an ART100WH, and aside from the aforementioned differences, it's essentially the same as the other ARTs I messed around with before settling on the 100. It plays and feels exactly the same, which is to say that it plays and feels like a Les Paul without any of the stuff that most of us who are used to playing super-strats find uncomfortable or flawed in a Les Paul. Any of the ART's will be a pretty solid, though not particularly expensive, investment in a very playable instrument. These things are not super-high-end guitars, but for the money, you can't beat 'em.

Re: ART series questions

Thanks for the replies guys, very useful.

As my other three guitars already have transparent finishes, with the 120 having the single inlay I think I'll be going with that one, the solid black will be a nice variation..
