Back to the baritones - Got a ton more ?'s

Ok. Back to this baritone deal. First I was all like "ok im gonna try one out and maybe buy it" and then i was like "ill try one but i doubt ill buy it since i already have 2 guitars that arent baritones" and i usually like to have my guitars have the same features. but i was at GC today and tried one of those danalectro baritones and I was very surprised. Sounded very tight and very clear. Even when I went to drop A it sounded real tight. But what my main question is this, does having the longer scale HELP intonation at all? Both my guitars dont have very good intonation. No matter how well I try to set them up they're still off enough for me to hear a difference. And another thing is string gauges, does that effect intonation at all? like if Im using heavy gauges and cant get the right intonation, will going a little lighter help at all? Thats basically the only questions. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh by the way, I've used Ernie Ball strings for a long time now, but way back in the day I was totally loyal to Dean Markley. So today I was like eh what the hell and slapped some Dean's on my RG7. Oh my god. The crap these strings put me through. i swear...its so funny because back in the day I always had the same problems and when I switched to the Balls, boom, no probs. And the tone. I guess what im getting at is that for me, Balls are the best. damn straight.

Wait I figured out why I couldnt get the intonation right, my neck had way to much bow. i adjusted the truss rod and now the intonation is getting much better.

"better" intonation is good, but next to perfect intonation is great. *do the buzz feiton mod, then you will hear a difference.

Good link: *Buzz Feiten Explained by Tom Anderson

It's just a mod to the individual string intonnation. *Personally, I don't think Buzz's "system" is that fantastic. *Check out Earvana. *I have one of their nuts on my Anderson. *Not only is it a great overall nut, but it does WONDERS for your intonnation. *Trust me, it is worth the money. *I did a chart of my intonnation a while ago, BEFORE I did any adjustments to the guitar... and the most it was off at any point was about 2 cents. *I can redo the measurements now that the guitar is properly set up if anyone would like.
