A bass amp for a 7 string?

Hallo..
Does any of you guys in here uses a bass amp for a 7 string guitar..?
In my experience, i had always better sound when using my guitars through my boss gx-700 in combination with bass amp..like my bassists amp peavey tnt150..
so, i am serriosly thinking about taking one..i have a chance to take an H-H 100w combo with 1x15 speaker..
so, any similar experiences..?

I think Mastodon use bass amps along with guitar amps because they tune to A. It sounds allright as long as the guitar amp is more powerfull than the bass amp.

Why not just try adding a 1x15" cabinet to your current amp?

yeah different speakers and different cabs will really change how your amp sounds. i wouldn't think you'd need a bass amp

If i had that tone, id hate it, Id burn my guitar/amp/pedals and start over again wondering where i went so wrong . But it works really well for mastodon.

Then adding a 1x15 wouldn't help much.

Seriously though, I would guess that a speaker rated for higher wattage would handle 7's better. My 1x12 combo has an old EVM-12L in it, which is a 200 Watt speaker, and it runs the 7 without issues.
The bottom line is the sound needs to make you happy, so if the H-H amp sounds good to you (especially when clean and loud) then definitely go for it. If you can add an extension cabinet to it in the future, even better.

i guess that i will take that H-H..100w and 1x15 sound promising to me..i will check it out tomorrow and let you know how it turned out..
Considering Mastodon, since i am still on dial up, and reffering to your impressions of that band..i am going to skip them..at least unteil i get some better internet connection..

Mastodon dont use bass amps and dont tune to a. they use marshalls with 4x12's and tune to d standard and for some songs drop the low d to a so power chords become octaves.
