Answer: Ask Jay. *:-)

Dirk's (Diek) former bassist, Harry, had a 13-string bass. *He got some SWEET sounds out of it! *

Check out the Warr "touch guitars".

14 Strings. (This REALLY belongs here... 2x 7!)

Playing one of those would be SO MUCH FUN!

Darren, An evening with that strapped over your shoulder and you’d be visiting Glen… at the office… for a week.

If you think that Conklin 7 string bass is extreme go to www.conklinguitars.com. I was pondering maybe someday haveing them build me a custom guitar. That is however after I win the lottery or strike oil. Anyways they have 8-string guitars and 9 string bass'. They also make 36 fret instruments. Very high quality and very cool guitars.

I actually have a custom built 7 string fretless headless bass, I don't think it's overkill, excellent for prog

I havn't got it yet, waiting for the pickups, but if anyone wants some pics of what is done so far let me know

Caprile: They're designed for two-handed tapping techniques originally developed by Emmett Chapman for his original Chapman Stick.

The concept has been expanded upon and evolved over the years by touch players and instrument builders.

Yeah, check out Tony Levin on the Chapman Stick! *Great stuff. *My bass player will be stepping up to a 7-string Conklin as well. *He plays a 6-string now and now wants something more challenging. *Go figure.
