Best approach for me for maple fingerboard and unfinished RG body
I spoke with a nice guy, Scott, in bidding on his **** auction for an unfinished RG body. I asked him about any other products and I found his site for Legacy One Guitars -- and I'm considering buying maple necks to:
1. go with the unfinished body
2. replace the neck on my RG 550
I'm getting a quote for him to lacquer?/finish the neck. He doens't paint the headstock.
Know that I have very limited patience and ability for mechanical things. I don't even like to hang pictures.
The other route seems to be to bid on RG550s and the very occasional RG aanj Wizard neck. I realize that I'd do better cost wise to buy complete guitars and cannibalize as needed. But the maple fingerboard is pretty elusive.
The only thing that offsets my mechanical attitude is I have good day job. So, I suppose I could pay someone to do some assembly.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jerry
