Question Best CHEAP NEW RG?

I want to pick up a cheap (low end) but NEW RG. There seem to be quite a few $299-$399 options.

What is my best bet?

Thanks!

Yeah. Probably a good call.

All of my previous Ibanez guitars have been regular (not GIO, Prestige, or Premium) RG's. Right now I don't own an Ibanez and it's time to pull the trigger on another RG. Last time I got one the GIO line didn't exist so I have never played one.

I found this:

What do you guys think of that RG?

The Wizard II and Wizard III appear to be just 1mm different in width. Same contour and everything.

Re: Best CHEAP NEW RG?

What level of playing are you at? If you are intermediate and above and you now believe that you are going to stick with playing guitar I would save up and get something that is going to last.

What style of music do you play? Goes without saying really, but some of the cheaper models are more attractive to modify (think pickups) than others given wood types etc.

Do you have any other guitars? If you already have something that is quality then a second axe as a consideration for practice or the like such as the price range you are talking about makes sense - see comments and recommendations from the guys above.

In most cases I have found that getting a cheaper guitar end up leaving you wanting in the future unless you have a specific goal in mind.

RG450 or RG321. The fixed bridges with the standard Gibraltar are great for their price point.

The RG2EX is a decent, if not basic, guitar. I think for the same money I would take the RG421MH and drop in better pickups/electronics.
