Best Piezo equipped Guitar

I want to buy a piezo equiped guitar, i like petrucci's piezo sound on his musicman and want to get something similar, which could be the best-affordable piezo guitar??, i had a variax in mind but it's not piezo exactly, i mean it most be a simulation.

Re: Best Piezo equipped Guitar

My new Parker has an awesome piezo sound, but it's probably not 'affordable'. Maybe one of the lower end parkers? The nitefly maybe? Not sure if the piezo is the same on those.

Rick Turner Model 1-C-LB. Incredible custom-made piezo setup and a steal at $3500 or so.

Re: Best Piezo equipped Guitar

I'd go for a 2120 or Parker over the EBMM Petrucci. When I played the Petrucci it didn't seem as nice to me as my Jackson Pro Soloist, and that cost a whopping $425. I'm not paying 1200 more than that just to get a piezo. I haven't played the JP7, but the JP6 has never struck as that big a deal.

Re: Best Piezo equipped Guitar

I held a Petrucci EBMM a few weeks ago. It weighed about 86 pounds.
Yeah. At LEAST 86 pounds.

Try a USA Hamer Duotone or Carvin AE185. I had the Hamer and currently have the Carvin. They play and sounds great.

Re: Best Piezo equipped Guitar

i recently bought an RG1620X. am loving it.

i have kinda been stuck in a lead-playing rut, but now i find the responsiveness of the piezo leads me to play new things.

Re: Best Piezo equipped Guitar

I got yer 86 pounds right HERE, Kenny.

The EB/MMs aren't terribly heavy at all. Unless you've been stuck on a Fly lately.

As heavy as a Les Paul?

...or better yet one of those early 90s all maple Les Paul Studios?

I once played a 30th or 25th anniversary strat. Nice guitar but it was as heavy as a Les Paul...

The Petrucci model is. Have you played one? It would break even you in two.

EDIT: TO CLARIFY...I AM SPEAKING OF THE PIEZO EQUIPPED MODEL

I'm liking my DC127 a lot. Would be a good buy and well worth the price of a new one and not cost a fortune.
