You beat me too it. Saw that as well. Maybe it's a Musicians Friend exclusive color. I'd like to see one in person. Think I'd still like my natural better.

Man...that figures...I just spent $250 having EMG's put into my RGA121NTF...I'd much rather have one in black...such is life

yeah, but its quite expensive for a guitar with a 'cheap option' bridge, i would say!

Re: black RGA121's in the US

Whoops, my bad, apparently not all RGT extreme comes with real EMGs. This is weird really, since the only difference with the RGT6ex is the pickups.

Re: black RGA121's in the US

yeah ... and i think ibanez discounts how bad their pickups are. except jems with evo's ... the ibanez pickups and the ibz/dimarzio jsut don't cut it.

and while many, including myself deem the RG the ultimate metal guitar ... the us market needs to at least have a model or 2 with real emg's

Re: black RGA121's in the US

I don't know. I think the Ibanez pickups are hit or miss depending on the model. The ones in my RGA121 are a bit thin sounding, the ones in my ARC300 were ok. Really aimed at classic rock sounds. The ones in my SZ520 actually aren't bad. Sure, I'll probably change them out, but they are more than capable.
