Buckshot's Guitars

Heya,

Just recently took some photos of my guitars so I thought I'd share them with the Forum.

This is was the first Ibanez I'd ever bought. A 1991 450S, I've had her for 20 years since new. The only mod on her is I had the rear replaced with an Evolution pick up when they first arrived here in Australia.

Re: Buckshot's Guitars

Next up is my very early pink Jem. Stock as a rock. She has a pretty big ding taken out of her at the top near where your right arm rests on the body but it had been filled in with something clear before I bought it in 1992. She's a great guitar, I write most of my stuff on my 450S but for some reason whenever I need to record something this Jem is my go to guitar.

My Rocket Roll II, found here sometime in 1992 as well I think...my mates and I used to go on day trips around the Sydney area just cruising guitar shops, basically anything unusual and Ibanez I'd buy it.

Picked this up in 1994ish ? 7 strings were pretty rare here in Sydney back then. One of the local guitar shops here had some guy that would always buy the latest fad guitar, play it for 6 or so months and then flip it for the next fad. I picked this up pretty darn cheap as they couldn't shift it.

Ibanez Destroyer II. Took me ages to find this one in the mid 90s here in Sydney. There were a few of them around but they were all pretty banged up. After cruising Sydney guitar shops for years looking for a decent one this fell in my lap at my local store ! The shop owner phoned me as soon as he got hold of it as he knew I couldn't resist. I had the rear pick up replaced with a PAF Pro I think it was.

I came across this Ibanez 3904 sometime in the mid to late 90s. A guy that used to run a guitar shop in Tamworth had 12 or so guitars in storage and a friend and I managed to buy them all off him for $200. This was the only one I wanted. The neck had been split at the heel so it sat in the case for about 15 years until I bumped into a local luthier that fixed it for me and replaced the fretboard.

My Korean Paul Gilbert. This was the last guitar I bought in the 1990s. I didn't buy my next guitar until 2008.

Re: Buckshot's Guitars

This is what happens when you mix Southern Comfort, Coke and eBay, my Ibanez Cimar which I accidently bought in 2008. I have to say though she's pretty nice to play once in a while for such a cheapie.

Not long after I bought the Cimar this little number popped up on eBay and I knew the very second I saw her I had to have it. 1974 Delux 59er. She's 1 year younger than me but in perfect condition. She sounds amazing and is stock. There's no way I'd change anything on her.

My custom Ibanez S. She started life as a 540SDY but had been badly abused and was in bits buy the time I got her. You can see the build thread here.

And finally my latest acquisition, a 1991 Ibanez 540STN.

Wow, what a nice collection, I've been gassing for a Rocketroll and a Destroyer. I do like the 540STN's also.

No thanks, I live by myself, never getting married again don't ever want kids. I laugh at the guys on here that have to ask for their wives permission before they buy anything. That's no way to live.

Re: Buckshot's Guitars

I think if you have to ask your wife permission to do something like that, you may have picked the wrong wife. My opinion. Obviously doesn't extend to stupid things that would place a family into financial crisis but all the same... asking permission. No thanks.

Re: Buckshot's Guitars

Picked myself up a pretty sweet Xiphos !

Not a mark on her and the beautiful green sparkly paint turns blue when the light catches it. Awesome !
