i already have a 570. i'm not sure what i'm going to get for my next guitar. i'm thinking about changing the pickups in my 570 first

You can get an RG570, RG520 and probably even an RG770 for less than an RG550.
The RG570 is the same guitar without a pickguard.
The RG520 has no pickguard, no middle pickup and a mahogany body.
The RG770 is an "upgraded" RG570.
Besides the small differences that I stated, all of these guitars are about the same as the RG550.
The RG570 is the same guitar without a pickguard.
