Can any Ibanez Dealer sell USRG's?? - been to a few, they ti

Just Curious can any authorized ibanez dealer order me a USRG????? *I've been to a few and asked about USA ibanez instruments and the they look at me like I just spoke a different language, they look through some books and then tell me to come back later when someone else is there. *Maybe the places i'm going to aren't used to someone dropping a grand or so on a guitar?

If you're referring to the USRG10/20/30, it's because they're no longer made. *
They haven't been built since about 1996. For specs, CLICK HERE. *
You'll have to find one that's NOS, or pre-owned.

Don't feel bad though- 95% of Ibanez dealers will give you that "deer in headlights" look even if you mention *current* models available. *:-)

Can any Ibanez Dealer sell USRG's??

I have a USRG30BT, bought it new in 1997 from a store called "Drappers" in Palo Alto, California. It's an awesome axe, and my first electric guitar. Out of the guitars in the store, I chose this one, just by the look of it. The most distinct feature is the bound rosewood fretboard, which really makes the fretboard look more attractive. I think it's the only Ibanez guitar that has the bound rosewood fretboard. It's also pretty rare, I've never seen any other USGRs than mine. I've been thinking about selling it, but it's got so much memories. I guess if somebody gives me the right figure, I'll let it go.....=) If anybody is interested, I can send you some pics of it.

I am very interested in your USRG30, just wondering if I could see some pictures before I make an offer, the only reason I ask is becuase I am deciding between your buterscotch and an amber, based on what I have seen the two colors look very similar I am just not sure wich one is the color I like.

i'm not 100% sure if amber is not the same as 'butterscotch'. It could be the amber is a burst whereas the 'scotch is uniform color. I got a quote on a USRG10 in 'butterscotch' back around '96, even though it was not listed in the catalogs & price sheets... glen

USRG's are NOT the only Ibanez's to have neck binding. I had an S-540 that had a bound (EDIT-rosewood) neck, and I'm positive there are others. What about all the USAC's?

There are many, many Ibanez guitars that have bound rosewood fingerboards, from RG270DXs to the JPM line.

As for color, I have an SV420 in Butterscotch (BT), and an RG1508 in Amber (AM). *As far as I can tell, they're the same color. *Neither is a burst. *

Hey, Green-Tinted, why don't you just call it RED, why are you debating color difference with amber?

Looks red to me, and I like that top, too. Has one else's USRG faded? I have a 30Tp, and it's not very purple, it's almost burgundy or brown trans. *I dunno, maybe it was that way to begin with.

preston, i'm not debating the color. in fact, i had no idea what color mine was until soloist said it's butterscotch. i didn't know what BT stands for. i saw the amber USRG that alienasia just bought and the color looks totally different than mine. that's all i'm saying.

the USRG pictured is butterscotch. it's all over the Catalogs... it is the reason i didn't order the USRG10 originally Amber or whatever the official name, is different and wasn't listed for the USRGs on the price lists... glen

Isn't it strange? My knowlege of the entire Ibanez line, present and past, is very lacking, yet I look like a genious next to most of the dealers I encounter. Thankfully that adds up to a bargin every once in a while. Sometimes they just don't know what they have or who to tell they have it.

Or think they have something else. *I should've printed out that RG-7620 blowout ad a while ago, cuz there's one in my local guitar shop that's going for $2021 (Canadian, without tax) and has been since they brought it in over 4 years ago.
